Church Spire

The Church Spire

I admire

The Church Spire

An object of desire

reaching higher and higher

Worshippers called by a bellowing crier

Uninvited is the denier

With circumstances so dire

It stands tall and will not retire,

Our king, as I pray, yes sire!

Will inspire

His rhetoric on fire

Banishing sin to the funeral pyre

Leaving desolate my inner liar

Standing for truth, will never tire
