Cigarettes.

I take the fire in my mouth; breathe it in; let it burn my tongue and throat and then brain.

Swallow.

Take it in the pulse, feel the blood boiling, lungs bursting.

Exhale.

The Poison is everywhere, covering my loves and my hates, those both dear and detested.

My life is going up in smoke.

My favorite part (and what inspired me to write it) was the mental image of fire in the mouth! That seemed shocking, and I wanted to elaborate.
