Cigarettes

Life looks different from behind foggy windows

And I love myself too much to mute any part of me

But the world outside looks better frozen

Life, a glorified cigarette, as you breathe in you die

Yet you hold onto that warmth because it makes you feel whole

As it tears you apart fromt the inside out

You don't have to be good if you let the annimal inside love what it loves

Life is beautiful if you learn to hold it right

As if we ever were anything more than the dust from the flames

Cigarettes are burning embers but make your edges cold

Proof sometimes love can cause our destruction
