Circus

I remember

the way you had no idea

when falling in love with me

that i was an acrobat

but i just have good balance

i cant actually fly

and you seemed like a good enough net

for me to fall on

I remember

the way you had no idea

when falling in love with me

that i was a dark dangerous addict

of nothing and everything

my drug of choice is anything not me

I remember

the way you had no idea

when falling in love with me

that you were never a person

and that i was

so really i was alone

I remember

the way you had no idea

when falling in love with me

that you were a complete yuppie

weekend warrior

that i wouldnt put up with your bar binging shit

I remember the way you had no idea

when falling in love with me

that you really didnt know what love was

and neither did i
