The Circus Sunset

The heavy sun wanders westward on yellow circus wagons and

Like a young lion strong and supple in his hunt,

He moves clandestinely toward the earth

In a still dance as old as sunbeams,

Hoping some day the earth will cease to swallow him whole,

And the pink clouds that act as the Bigtop

Will softly dissipate in the twilight.
