Citrus Cathedral

sometimes i cup clementines (which represents

       epiphany)

in the crater of my palm,

almost sending my sins to jesus.

i wedge the slices

behind my teeth (which is

literally

an act of hunger, or

metaphorically

an act of

repentance,

both almost

the same thing)

clementines have a certain sweetness that is:

creation (or something created

if you assume

that the

building

and the

builder

can’t work

simultaneously)

but also fleeting (the

     clementine,

     as one does,

     moves on

     prematurely --

     everytime)
