The City of Angels

Fri, 06/06/2014 - 17:54 -- mmoriya

Sirens, sirens, sirens

In the city of Angels

But where is the light?

Gum ridden sidewalks

Palm Trees

And cracks in the pavement filled with hopeless citizens

It's hard.

It's hard.

With the entitled only footsteps away

Watching from a car window

Wondering, wishing and dreaming of something better

Helicopters, they like to fly overhead all night long

The broken children and their broken toys underneath

Beg to be fixed

Rid the restless nights and the fear that this is forever

The same sky floats above

"God? Are you there? Will you save me?"

Turn down the lights

Close my eyes

And gift me with an ounce of hope
