The City Of Roses
Clouds lay low,
so gray and so mellow.
Where rain falls,
Love will still stand tall.
Flowers begin to grow,
where lines of roses begin to glow.
Bridges arch across the river,
like open arms that make you shiver.
A gentle breeze where passion flows.
Emotions begin to show.
From one body to the other,
they smother one another.
But the city floods the color red.
Her absence makes you dread.
The City of Roses,
a love so pure, time never disposes.
Roses are pure, they light up a spark,
but the thorns pick you apart and leave a mark.
It's where pain and beauty intertwine.
The good and the bad combine.
But seasons come and seasons go.
Just how some things are meant to go.
As the leaves turn from green to red,
I feel as if you have turned me from alive to dead
Memories like waves crash in,
As my life begins to grow thin
Though you’ve gone, you still remain,
Close to my heart, you gave me great pain
The City of Roses,
My heart still feels close.
Buildings like evergreen’s smother the valley.
To the one I loved the most, you turned me into a castaway.
