City of Statues

Tue, 02/20/2018 - 09:01 -- Chek0v1

Down below where the trees sway

A city of Statues rose from the fray.

They look around

not making any sound

and watch the city crumble around them.

The Fairgrounds watch in silent adoration

as the statues follow no ordinary routine

They just watch the scenery.

Dots among dots among dots among dots

Cover the valley like an edible smog.

The statues watch their city waste away

into the ground and watch it come back in May.

The statues crumble and break

into Hades' tumbril for no one's sake.

The only thing left of the statues and me

Is in the small but intricate Pico's creek.
