A City to Thrive In
New York:
A skyline dusted with dirt and dreams,
A city where people drown in ambition,
And the hard reality of rejection
A place I cannot live without.
Traffic horns honk and humans hurry
In one direction or another
While a struggling artist finds the strength to pursue their career
Yet another day
A place I cannot breathe without.
Fashion forward designers slave away in studios
As trendy bloggers strut up and down Fifth Avenue,
Sipping coffee,
Braving the conditions in five inch heels
A place I cannot dream without.
Motivation and inevitable hardship suffocate visitors.
A lifestyle awaits.
A city to pursue.
A city to thrive in.
