Civil Rights

Before we were two, now we are one Same school, same bus No more strife, no more fuss It was a terrible time, with so much pain When it hit bottom, it was only time to gain March, boycott, and strike The path to civil rights was a long and treacherous hike Without the people who were strong and brave The ending would have been very grave Sharing books, bathrooms, and schools was like sharing the world It was time to see that equality swirled The rights have remained for many years With confidence and opportunity there are no fears The past was hard and the future is bright It was all worth the struggle, it was worth the fight. They took a huge leap, it wasn’t always an easy ride But it was all worth it in the end, revel in the pride
