Civilazation can do no wrong

On an island

The only idea that flows

Is that a better world

Is still on the horizon

That better things will become

That poverty will lower

That racism will vanish

That all that that can be good

Will be good

A world with no fear

Gained by our generation of dreamers

But

I’m on this island

It’s impossible to know

I can cling to the idea

Never let it go

The thought keeps me going

Hoping

to return to this.
