Clarity
Slash. Rip.
Crinkle. Shred.
The pages of my past collide with those of my present.
The silence…
…around us…
…between us…
…within us…
…thickens.
Silence so incredibly powerful that it rips the sound from the air.
The collision of memories destroys my ability to think.
My eyes plead with the road ahead of me.
I contemplate never hitting the brake.
I feel the pressure of his hand on my knee.
I focus…
…I slow down…
…I breathe.
