Clarity in the Dark

The words float in my mind Like a river trickling by Whispers in my ear Here and then gone The pain is building inside Shouting seems like a solution But it is denied I feel it bubbling beneath the surface The red of anger The black of fear The haze of red dims Blackness taking over Surrounded and crowded A speck of light The pen is grabbed A life line Held tight with my might As the words appear The fear disappears
