A Class That Made Me GROW UP

It was the dreadful beginning of Fall;

the new school year had come about.

The first day came, I went wrapped in my shawl,

through the high-school halls to find my school route.

Then I sat down in my first 9th-grade class.

It was so much different than others.

It brought me a new view to "not just pass,"

a reason to research and get answers.

Then came a whirlwind of career ideas,

ways I can help the beautiful Earth,

jobs that would protect all of the world's seas.

That class led me to my dream job, with worth.

But now that wondrous class has ended,

Never-the-less that class keeps me spirited.
