The Classifieds
Have you ever been hated or discriminated against?
Have you ever lost a brother, a father or even, a best friend?
The emotions you feel
I feel them too
But why shall
I
be classified
As something lower than you?
Fear me not
For I am only human
Judge me by the content of my character
NOT
by the color of my skin
A little girl shakes in fear at the sight of me
I'm thinking to myself "why does this have to be?"
Labels are nothing but figments of OUR imagination
Why can't we break down the barriers of hatred for a better new coming generation ?
Guns and knives
And all these stupids wars
But believe it or not
Into a war WE are born
Forced to fight
Yet we die a little everyday
The simple cut of your eyes can cause a piece of me to fade away
Judge me by the content of my character
NOT
by the color of my skin
I find my life is poetry
Dangerous words are like gun fire
Have we not been oppressed enough?
Yet chains and whips excite Rihanna!?
S & M
Nah
More like SMH
I look down
On you clowns
Who hate me because of race
The abolishment of slavery?
But still we are prisoners of our own minds
Think outside the box
Think outside those chalk dotted lines.
The emotions you feel
I feel them too
But why shall
I
Be classified
As something lower than you?
Fear me not
For I am only human
Judge me by the content if my character
NOT
by the color of my skin!
