Clay

I have molded myself. Let myself slip through my own fingers. Fallen hard, and blamed myself for how much it hurt.

But I have realized that I am worth more than painful love. That the quiet boy I ate lunch with almost every day, is the person who cares about me most. That my heart has been torn. Stretched to fit all the care I have never been used to.

I have realized that my body cannot hold any more hatred. I am a tree and I should not cut myself down to make others comfortable. My unshaven legs and thick brows are my leaves. They come and go when I choose.

I have realized that I've been praying to a God I don't believe in. Surrounded by people saying things I don't agree with. If there is a heaven, with an all-loving God, wouldn't there be multiple ways to get in?

I have realized,

He shaped my heart.

Nature made my body.

They changed my mind.

I have realized that change was the medicine that was always too hard to swallow. Lingering on my tongue a bit too long. Ultimately, healing me.
