A Clear Head

I spend hours writing to clear my brain
Nothing makes me feel the same
I'll even do it on the train
On my way to work, or in the rain
Under an umbrella, or even Spain

I like to do it when I'm stressed,
Like when I have to take a test
Or even when I just can't rest
I think that's when I do it best
I do it when I'm happy too,
And especially when I'm feeling blue

The doctor told me I'm insane
He  said writing wouldn't cure the pain
He said it wouldn't help my brain
But no, I don't feel the same
I just wish I could clear my brain
