Clearly

To blame a child for being a child

Is like blaming an animal for being wild.

It grew up with a style of surviving

And staying alive.

So to tell a high school student

Who is strong and prudent

Why do you love poetry,

I'd say I grew up with it.

so unlike the proud and few

Who deny the gift as if it's something new

I'd walk away silent & bid that person a dew.

Feelings can be expressed through paintings & pics

But words can also do the trick.

So for a poet what really sticks ?

Vocabulary that makes the simpleton sick.
