clementine

I feel pain deeply

Deep in the very chambers of my heart

I feel it in my blood

Coursing through my veins

Race car drivers on their last lap

I feel it in the marrow of my bones

And in the cells of my liver

I feel pain deeper

I feel pain in my soul

In my fingertips

Threatening to pour over the surface

And completely wash me away.

I feel pain deeply

My heart is more scar than it is muscle

My heart is more shattered than it is whole

I feel pain so deeply.
