Cleopatra

An observer with thoughts of confusion.

Is it sorrow?

Or just madness

You came along with a warm hug

To dismiss my distress

But I must confess

It hurts when I see you

I can feel a sense of distress from you too;  Or maybe I'm just making it up

It's as if our minds are connected through a dimension of the intuition that no one can explain.  A consciousness troubled with pain

But as Cleopatra sits on her throne

I can see it in her eyes that she feels just as alone

When the queen and her feline enter my home

I am overjoyed yet still somehow angered

Happy in fact that an angel came along to save me

But what makes me angry is the wound that returns though I’ve been rescued I'm grateful for you and all that you do

Loyal and beautiful

But only if you knew the truth,  Cleopatra.....

I know it. I hope you never do
