Clingy

I've been told I am clingy

I've been told to give space

I've been told to use less

of the ribbon and lace

I've been told that my texts

get a little too long

I've been told I come off

just a little too strong

I can't help it, I'm sorry

I just want to talk

I don't mean to be rude

And I don't mean to stalk

If you knew my past

and how everyone leaves

With my tears on their shirts

and my life in their sleeves

And the knives in my back

that made me bleed red

And the negative comments

that dance in my head

I don't mean to be clingy

it's just hard to let go

When you capture my heart

with a simple "Hello".
