Clipped Wings

I watch the world in her shallow state

Operating on a perpetual schedule

Yearning to achieve

Hallow prosperity

I watch the world in her thoughtless actions

Moving on ignorance and impulse

Waiting for someone to right their wrongs

I am these people

I am the hungry

I am the restless

Left with only hope that one day

I find fulfillment
