The Clock Ticks

"It's your senior year"

"Have some fun"

They've said this a thousand times,

But I'm just ready to be done.

"Go be a kid for once"

They've said this since I was six.

But I'm running out of time for what's due tomorrow

And yet the clock ticks.

"You're too young to be stressed"

They say this with care.

"You're right" I say

As I pull out my hair.

It's because of the trichotillomania

But I don't have time for a shrink.

Sleep is only a privilege

And even while sleeping I think.
