Clocks

tick tock the clock on the wall is ticking, tocking counting down the hours minutes seconds. tick tock tick tock Sometimes I wonder what happens if the clocks stop. what if they stop ticking, what if they run out of time to count down. Do we go back to zero? Are we forced back to the beginning? Will we have to rebuild our civilizations, Our monuments, our world? Or does everything just Freeze? Do our hearts stop beating and we stop decaying and we just hang there suspended in the absence of time as everything we know is washed away in the ice cold waters of oblivion and, unaware of what’s even happening we are powerless to stop it? tick tock tick tock tick tock faster and faster and faster Like two young hearts just realizing their in love quickening, like a single heart alone, vulnerable and backed into a corner. The clocks keep ticking, keep tocking keep counting faster and faster and faster until life has passed you by in what suddenly feels like the blink of an eye. You’re time is up. Time, which used to be ally is now your enemy, Time, which used to tick tock slowly now rushes towards you like impatient river water faster and faster and FASTER until YOU know nothing but eternity. But the clocks keep ticking, keep tocking. They might pause for a beat because you no longer exist, but they keep counting down, counting counting down from infinity. And when you start with infinity it is impossible to ever reach zero. Even though we think the world ends with us even though WE might be out of Time Time keeps going, Time never stops.
