Clockwork

Clockwork: Spoken Word

By: Hannah Beasley

The smell of rain on the dry earth always made her think of

the way the world works.

Tic tic tic

How it's like clockwork

Tic tic tic

And the earth's clockwork helped her brain work

Tic tic tic

Like a routine

Tic tic tic

Everything at the same time each day

Tic tic tic

It was the way

Tic tic tic

The world worked

Tic tic tic

It reminded her that

Tic tic tic

In nature

Tic tic tic

One must supplement

Tic tic tic

The other
