Close The Door

The door is sealed shut

to lock in the spiraling shadows

that are so haunting at night

The barrier brings comfort,

muffling the bustling mascaraed

while silencing staggered breaths

The separation instills peace

from plastered smiles and,

manuscripted parley

There is no key

There is no lock

Turn away, like before
