Close Enough

What happens when he's so close

but so far away

and you can't do anything but

Stare.

And hope.

And try to find the words that never Were,

Have been,

or Will be

in your grasp.

But they're close enough to Feel,

to Know,

and to Believe.

And when he looks up,

and sees you,

and stares back,

you know he knows they're close enough.
