Through tears and fears

you've held me near

in sleepless nights

and morose days

you wisk me away

with trails of ink

you lead the way

and help me think

of better times

in lyrical rhymes

I find comfort with you now

you help me believe

I don't know how

That those times will return

for that I yearn

a simple dream to seek

a chance to learn

you and me

pen and poet
