Close Your Eyes

How do I love you? Here are all the ways,

For one, I know you will be here for the rest of my days.

A commitment never failing,

Your promises keep true.

And when I drift to sleep at night, I always long for you.

No one else can make me feel this way, some might call it obsessed

But the day you say “Goodbye” to me, I surely will not rest.

Forever mine, my precious prince,

You saved me from the floor

And if you stay and accept my love

I’ll give you so much more

Than any girl can, they do not love you as much as me

And when you close your eyes at night

I pray you think of me.

I am a film student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. I hope to be a screenwriter one day, but I love all forms of writing.

What a great poem. Though some might call it corny, I think it is sweet and a real optimistic look on love. Keep writing on my friend.
