Closed Eyes

I can only see you when my eyes are closed.
It’s so easy for me to ignore
anyone knocking at my door.
But I can't help but notice
the walls caving in
and the door ways closing shut.
And then there was you.

It’s strange,
I never let anyone in.
and then there was you,
just standing there.
You opened the door,
I let you in
you found me and I found you.
But you ran away
leaving me wondering
and then I woke up.

I’ll cry, ill laugh, I’ll talk and ill smile
till there’s nothing left of me.
Ill live and ill pretend,
till I'm almost dead.
I'm alone
there’s no one around.
And then there was you,
just standing there once again.

I’ll follow the path you’ve created
lead me into the darkness of the night
and then my eyes will begin to close
and when I go completely mad
ill know I’ve found you
once again.

Your strange and beautiful
perfectly imperfect.
The only problem is;
I can only see you when my eyes are closed.
So please don’t wake me, just let me sleep in.

Maybe one day you’ll understand
maybe one day you’ll find me once again
I wish it was that day.

But maybe, just maybe
ill be able to see you when my eyes are open.
Maybe I’ll see you again.
If not now,
if not later,
maybe in another life,
maybe when my eyes are open.
