In The Closet

It is lonely in the closet,

It is dark in the closet.

It is safe, in the closet.

The closet is my shield.

I feel angry in the closet.

I feel sad in the closet.

I feel scared in the closet.

I feel content, in the closet.

I am trapped in the closet.

The closet makes me feel as though I am on the inside

Looking out.

Why do I stay here?

But why should I leave?

I want to get out of the closet,

Except I don't know how?

I've been here for too long.

I don't think I'm ready,

but I must get out.

Get out before it's too late.

Too late to leave.
Forever lost.

Lost to myself,

to my family,

and to my friends.

Lost forever, in the closet.
