In the Clouds

Life is like the sky,

One might paint the day

grey,

Another cascading colors of

amber, orange, and blue,

As we all start out as aimless clouds,

I, too, began that way,

Thought I knew which way I was going,

But suddenly the wind pushed this way and that,

And soon I was over Australia,

When I started over America,

Influence of the wind carried me,

Further and further away from home I got,

Until finally the wind changed directions,

And I pulled myself closer to home,

Like a cloud I changed shape, emotion,

color,

Some days I felt small,

As if I could be carried away with the breeze,

Most days a down pour of rain,

Glimmers down my cheek,

Then there were the days,

Where I felt-

Powerful,

And I gleamed with the sun,

Those days turned into months, years,

As I learned to rid myself of the ongoing

grey,

And let in the shimmering

yellow,

Ending up on cloud nine
