Clouds

I am a single cloud

passing overhead

Always there

drifting slowly

yet I am often misread,

for my bright, cottony exterior

is a facade

that hides me

If you get too close you'll pass right through

and see

that what lies within

is cold and misty

I don't want you to see

don't want you to know

that I am lost inside and terrified

that it is starting to show

I can't contain this feeling inside anymore

I'm not even sure what it is

But I want to be free

I want to let go

Because holding these feelings inside is too much

I want to scream and shout

be like the thunder and cry out

that

I

AM

HERE.

I am here.

Please.

Sometimes tears spill from my eyes like rain

and I know

that if enough rain falls

I will disappear.

That is not what I want

I want to laugh with you,

cry with you,

walk with you,

not alone.

I don't want to disappear,

not like this

Not like this.

I am not the only cloud,

there are others

We don't know how to reach out

to let you in,

let you see.

So look up.

Look up

every now and again

because we are here,

we are here,

and we want to be free.
