The Clouds
Life seemed good.
I felt safe.
There was no judgement on looks or race.
But soon that illusion started to fade.
With time going by.
The worse we’d become.
The sun even hid
To not see what's been done
By our society that kills for fun.
The clouds above were all that remained.
Of what society could not detain.
My eyes began to water and rain.
My sad thoughts are taking over,
I began to feel drained.
With each thought, I dwindled down.
I felt like I was starting to drown.
No one could save me.
I was too far gone.
All they could do was play along
And hope I brought myself back before long.
With each breath I felt death grow nearer.
But I didn’t tremble with fear.
I welcomed death with open arms.
A sinister spirit that wanted to harm.
In which had no soul;
It’s face, plain.
The spirit that I greeted.
Felt kinder than the life I suspired.
And to those that had this moment desired
I hope you all grow tired
From all you conspired.
From the world, the color faded.
From minutes to hours, there was no change.
With my last breath, I said “goodbye”
To my friends, the clouds in the sky.
