Cloy
I kiss god’s gracious earth,
Giggling at the sight of my teeth caked in dirt.
Humming tunes that progress into performances;
A tune comprehensible only to the likes of me and you,
A beat you’ve unknowing drummed into me.
Nevermore mindful of worries or woes,
Someone who keeps up with me as I go.
Despite all mistakes, you stay.
You even reveal the depths of yourself,
And oh what a marvel it is to know the depths of you.
For when a perfect moment strikes
Another layer of you is unearthed,
Collapsing me with complete bliss.
The stars must’ve aligned, for such a moment
Explains the most primitive of rituals.
How could anyone properly thank the molder of your stature?
No amount of sacrifice could suffice appeasing such a gift as you.
How foolish of me to think a few words could.
