Clueless
Heb 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition;
but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.
I don’t know how to cry for others anymore
My tears long washed away ignoring the hurdles
Now all seems purposeless from ceiling to floor
Once I had hopes and longed for the future
Now a one-way street where I can’t turn around
Thirst and hunger oft with nowhere to nurture
The needs of my heart I ran into the ground
Always a coming tide to drive me deeper in sand
Do I need a storm of life to shake me to the core?
May be I’ll lifted up toward the Promised Land
That I just can’t see as I’m losing all the more
Maybe after all is said and done I’ll open my eyes
I’ll ignore fleeting reality as I want it to be
I’ll move the illusion without wondering: “why?”
Since I don’t have a clue in what I ought to see
Trotting the side line with my back to the game
Judging the watchers without knowing the score
Absorbing all excitement and lifting my shame
As my chosen ignorance knocks on every door
