Coach Vernell

More than a step coach, a visionary

Envisioned a team of his own

Envisioned a studio he would call home

Where step could roam free, and always have space to grow

Where his love for step could infest itself in others

Growing more by the day

In more than one way

Showing how to humbly win

Showing how to graciously lose

Teaching that a trophy wasn’t the prize

It was always the feeling

Feeling that you had step to confide in

Feeling mountains of joy without the win

Always pushing us through the storm

Knowing it would do nothing but pull us toward the glory

Glory that we thought of only in a dream

Where each step contained limitless power

Where each sound we made had endless meaning

Meaning that would order our steps

So that one day, we look back

And revisit his vision

That helped us step into our own
