Cobweb

they always tell you to crawl before you get to your feet

but i've been running for as long as i can remember.

chasing anything that i can find in my sight,

maybe one day i'll learn to tie my tongue behind my caged teeth,

to someday have my mind and lips in sync for just once

just once.

the idea of holding back

tempts me to drive forward

but yet i still feel like i have to pull back

taken out of the universe at times

when im in my own space

my own head

the only safe place yet so harmful

writing,

erasing,

revising,

thinking,

speaking,

feeling,

all placed in the lattices on the walls in my mind

but i cannot reach for them and replace them

so they sit over me

even when im ready to move on

im stuck webbing this cobweb in a loop

more designs,

more patterns,

all just to be taken away from me,
