Coffee

Barely awake

I reach towards you,

my comrade

Without you I would be the walking dead,

The actuality, not the show.

You start my mornings with warmth,

unless you are iced,

different story.

An Ode to you for whom I rely,

for being there consistently.

Always in the kitchen,

brewing in the pot,

Coffee,

you are my confidant.
