Coffessions
Tonight the stars shine brighter.
So bright that I can’t help but clench the grass like a lover’s hand right next to me; giving me comfort and assurance that my life was well lived. But I know It was all in vain.
The tighter I clench; the less painful the epiphany.
With every inhale I breath in confusion, yet with every exhale I breathe out Certainty.
Solace crowds the moment, But fear is not far behind her.
He will be there to remind me that I will no longer be me.
In a matter of minutes I will be reduced to a prison record, a gun for hire, and the splitting image of my father.
But as I leave the stage;
I will give an encore.
I will replay all my roles in less than two minutes. A two year old afraid of going to school, a first kiss, a first love, a last love,a friend, a brother, a thief, a murder, a father,a son,a husband, and a gun.
Truly I will be but a memory among dreams. Dust returning home.
