Cognitive Distortions

The echoes of your mind reflect the passage of time

Mere flashings of images from past days so sublime

Cherished memories all now riddled with decay

Myriad erstwhile experiences of an earlier day

Mislaid narratives of those with whom one travelled

Moribund meanings forever to be left unravelled

Resonating tales with permanently suppressed endings

Masquerading now as grotesque pretending’s

Favourable deliberations are all disqualified

As a filtered distorted substance may betide

A wild descent into phantasmagorical dreams

To be forever bemused in labyrinthian scenes
