The Cold

His eyes, so warm and bright

They danced like fire, like candlelight

We connected like magnets: instantly,

I never knew what he'd turn out to be.

He beats me to get what he wants

And, to me, help is his game of taunt

I believed that he would change

and that it was just a stage

But it seems I was horribly mistaken

And that his monsters have awoken

The light blocked out by anger and hate

So it set my fate

What hope could I have now?

Knowing that a scream will be my last sound?

My sanity is shattered like a glass

and our perfect love is forever in the past.

So as my body goes dead and cold

Please make sure my story is told.
