Cold Hands

One of the people

who grew old looking

looking for the fingers

that fit perfectly in hers.

She found herself

walking alone under florescent lights,

trying to put on a mask of

indifference as she made her

way out into the cool breeze

He discovered her with

a cup of tea and

he warmed her heart

with a crooked smile that

she fell in love with.

No one could understand

how their cold hands

morphed together as her heart

grew still and he could only

hope to see her again.
