cold night
in light snow you take
the ferry to the island
a cold wind blows and
you wrap your coat around you.
dark water sloshes
snowflakes like glitter floating
on the surface
the ferry docks and you leave.
standing on the shore
your cheeks tingling in the cold
on the pale island
between the black sea and sky.
you float there in space
as snowflakes shine in the air
like the goddess nyx
at the edge of the cosmos.
