Cold Skys

You were the light And I was the dark Your soul was forgiving And I remained unfeeling Yet I still loved you all the same Then I saw signs on those slow winter eves, But my words Taken from me and deaf ears followed So I watched Ignorant of everything Until that night I was too late I drowned in the rising sun as I watched and waited You gasped for each breath Starving for every ounce of life Until that moment in time when the world stilled … you faded. With your eyes being as pale as the morning sky Your last breath came And with the final twitch of your body You faded. And finally cold eyes stared back into mine And with a single thought I wanted you back. In commemoration I thought of One last wish and my only wish Was for you to see your first snow Now it has been a week since then For on February 3rd it snowed And I stared at your grave And I wondered Are you happy now?
