Cold Story

                                                   Cold Story

I had this home boy, we was down past infinity

But everything changed as soon as he lost his virginity

He gained the tendency to pop of in any vicinity

So he and I became the coldest of enemies

One day, his crew mobbed deep on some freshmen and shook one

One of those poor boys had some nice jays so he took them

Showed off to his friends like, “Just copped the new 9’s look son”

Everybody was laughing until the cops came and booked him

The charge was petty theft, but you know how the hood loves to embellish a case

You would have thought he was Mandela by the end of the day

Saw his moms in church she even asked me to pray

For her baby that has gone astray, before he passes away

Truth is I had no pity, his story happens all the time in the city

He started acting shifty, ditched me for a life he thought was pretty

But I looked at his mom and knew it had to hurt, so I made my knees attach to dirt

And said the words of this holy verse

Lord let no weapon form against him prosper, let him dodge gunshot from any copper

Let him reject company from every shotta, and if he gets hurt bless the scalpel of his doctor

But when he found out I prayed for his miracles he got mad at me

And drove to those who indulged in his tragedies

So he continues to walk that rode that so risky

While I’m watching his moms cry for the life of her pickney.
