Cold Warmth

A cold fan in your room, Your warm embrace feels cold. Blasting music, yet all I hear is you. Why do you say you’re my friend? Oh, I’ve been kind. I’ve been warm, I’ve been understanding, I’ve given you too many second chances. So why do you treat me so? Subtle cold glares, Too-sweet smiles, And tight hugs. I forgot how to express words, Forgot that emotions are valid, Forgot how to feel without you. Crave your praise, Dread your criticism. Does that sound familiar, friend? Oh, well. It’s probably just me.
