I come from a family, bonded but frayed

The house is built strong, but inside is dismay

On the surface its perfect

Look deeper and see

What really goes on, then you will know me

Everyone has problems, I've no room to to preach

But one thing I would change is communication...that, we need

See... my father and I don't get along

Thats the most prevalent one

We both have a great anger

Cracked bond of Father and Son

For him its the alcohol, but he doesn't see

What the bottle does to him and what he does to me

He thinks I talk back, but Im trying to save this

The relationship with my Dad, but the beams are breaking

He has problems talking

About feelings or thoughts

I have tried but it fails

My lips feel caught under a rock

So I've been giving up

The desire slowly fading

Im praying for a miracle

That will end the family decaying

I put my feelings on paper

It usually helps

But this is the only thing

My words bounce off of

So what would I change

If I had the choice

I would fix the communication

Hope to increase my voice.
