College

They say it's quite the ride, No rules or regulations to abide. They talk about the parties, Or going to Arby's. Trying to avoid tardies, To become one of the smarties. Excited about the extracurricular, But no exact thing in particular. It makes me anticipate college, But don’t forgot it's supposed to be for knowledge. So many new things to explore, Numerous subjects to adore. It intensifies my excitement to its core, All these things behind that door. But wait, something’s in the way, A terrible sight to display. A rude little fellow is he, A gruesome sight for all to see. He makes his presence known to every dreamer, With his costly and expensive demeanor. This little fellow named tuition and fees, Brings every student to his knees. Begging and pleading to God to make a way, So he can see that campus someday. But with faith the size of a mustard seed, I am sure I will reach my financial need. And now that door is open, I can reach my collegiate token. My professional endeavors will then soar, Because I had the faith to open that door.
